The Crowd (1928/1989)

Directed by King Vidor

Chicago Reader

The Crowd is the only film of the first 25 Film Registry entries that has never been released on DVD or any subsequent home video format in the U.S. It was released by MGM on VHS and LaserDisc back in that era, but both of those are long out of print and nearly impossible to find. The time is long overdue for this classic film to be remastered and released to the home video market. A boutique label like Criterion would make an ideal home.

The Crowd can be seen online at the Internet Archive.
